    Primary Therapist

I am a licensed clinical social worker with a Master degree in Social Work from California State University, Long Beach. I have been working in the field of Mental Health for the past 10 years in a variety of community based mental health settings. I have worked with adults and children of all ages from diverse ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds. I am experienced in working with those struggling with depression, anxiety, relationship issues, trauma, substance use, and work/school related conflicts, among other issues. My passion for mental health began when I worked as a tutor and life skills educator for youth in long term foster care in Los Angeles County. I realized how important their mental health was as a determinant to their success in the future. My therapeutic approach stems from humanistic theory, focusing on self-development and growth, while helping individuals recognize their strengths, creativity, and power of choice. However, I employ a variety of theoretical frameworks such as narrative, motivational interviewing, solution-focused, cognitive behavioral and psychoanalytic. I am client centered, where my clients are the experts in their life and environment. My goal is to help my clients heal and get to know their own mind and potential. Primary Therapist

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who hold a master's degree in social work with a concentration in children, youth & Families from California State University, Long Beach School of Social Work program. What drove me to the helping profession was my earlier life experiences as a low-income Asian American who has been on a journey of healing due to impacts of cultural stress and generational trauma. I am grateful that there have been many amazing influential individuals that were placed in my life who have shaped me into becoming the resilient person I am today and have motivated me to help others. I believe that people are capable of healing, change, growth and transformation when they are in a safe environment where one is heard and accepted unconditionally. I have over 11 years of diverse experience working in the mental health field at various settings at community mental health organizations as well as local schools providing individual therapy, facilitating substance use groups, and providing trainings on trauma-informed care and motivational interviewing. The last few years earned me the experience of supervising case managers, service coordinators, and providing supervision to therapist interns, which only grew my passion to help working professionals in the field navigate challenges of organizational trauma, while unlocking their own potential. I have also worked with children, teens, and older adults from different diverse socioeconomic, and ethnic backgrounds who struggled with anxiety, depression, grief and loss, trauma, self-harm, substance use issues, navigating crisis situations, and multicultural issues and racial trauma. My theoretical orientation is primarily person-centered, humanistic, holistic and eclectic drawing from various models because I believe there is no one size fits all approach. I believe in providing you with a safe non-judgmental space to process your feelings and that building a trusting relationship is foundational to facilitating growth, healing, & transformation. I believe that we are not defined our history, struggles, or symptoms, but that we all have a unique story to tell about our upbringing, culture, values, life experiences, strengths and unique talents that make up who we are as individuals. I would love to learn more about you as a whole person, and navigate this life journey collaboratively to promote change and personal development. To inquire about setting up an appointment with me please call our office at 562-566-4257.
